Dear Friends,
I want to share with you a story that continues to move my heart and reflect the very mission of International Women’s Ministries—to wipe the tears of our sisters and their children until Jesus returns (Revelation 21:4).
Years ago, Sol Balbero saw the plight of children sleeping in the park in Manila’s red-light district. These little ones had no shelter, and worse, predators would come at night to abuse them. With courage and faith, Sol and a friend became “watchmen on the walls” (Isaiah 62:6), chasing away predators and risking their own lives to rescue the vulnerable.
Out of this act of obedience, God birthed Kalungan Sa Erma—“Place of Refuge.” Since 1988, Sol’s ministry has been a safe haven for the abused, exploited, and abandoned. Today, she operates four homes and even a farm where children are not only protected but also taught trades and life skills. The government itself relies on her work to house children while their perpetrators are prosecuted.
Now, God has placed a fresh vision on Sol’s heart: a recovery center for girls and young women, a place of healing where survivors will receive therapeutic care, education, life skills, and, most importantly, restoration through Christ.
This is where The Wiping Tears Project comes in. We have committed to raising $47,000 to make this vision a reality. Jesus tells us, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). When we rescue and restore even one child, we are serving Christ Himself.
I humbly ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us. Can we really put a price on a life restored—on a child brought from the streets into safety, hope, and a future in Christ?
Paul reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Together, we can reap a harvest of restoration for these precious ones.
If you would like more information, please reach out to me directly. My prayer is that we will meet this goal quickly so that the new year brings new beginnings for many children in the Philippines.
Thank you for standing with us.
Wiping Tears Until Jesus Returns,
