We were welcomed to Lampung by a precious family of local Pastors.
Our first stop was to meet with them over lunch where we enjoyed fellowship and connected over conversation. This was a great way to start as we prepared to serve their community and various others during our time in Lampung.
Later, the first evening, we drove to a location where we could overlook the city of Lampung. It was a special opportunity to pray over the city and prepare our hearts for what would take place in the next few days!
The next day was our full day Women’s Conference (2nd of the trip), where we had the privilege of encouraging over 50 women, most of which are volunteers or church leaders who faithfully pour into their local communities in Lampung or in nearby village communities.
It was an impactful day of encouragement and building up of these women who are precious in the eyes of the Lord!
The next day we traveled 3 hours to two villages, Bandar Jaya and Onohajo, where several women from the conference resided, and we had a time of fellowship and worship in two churches in their communities.
One of the missionaries we served alongside, provided basic medical check-ups, and the remainder of our team connected with other leaders and church members where we visited.
We were honored to share a meal with them, worship, and pray together over their families and growing community of faith!
During our travels to the villages we also visited a 96 year-old woman who wanted to attend the Women’s conference in Lampung, but could no longer walk.
While we traveled in the villages we went to her home to connect with her, heard her story, and prayed with her.
We all left inspired by her life as she remained tenderly in love with Jesus all these years, even to the point of expressing her fearlessness of death because she was confident she will soon be in the loving arms of her Savior.
Wow.
Each opportunity in Lampung—immersion in the culture; local church visits; traveling to villages; fellowship over meals…ALL was a part of God’s mission to wipe the tears of His daughters, empowering them to live by faith as God moves mightily in their land!! 🇮🇩
